Do you ever get over a lost wedding band and engagement ring?
I lost my engagement ring and wedding band yesterday, under the circumstances, I know I will never see it again. It wasn't insured, and we won't buy another diamond ring (it wasn't that expensive ($1500), but we are very fiscally conservative), but we'll replace the wedding band, I just can't help thinking that I'll never get over it.
I never took it off before that. And then, I only took it off because I was working in a soil lab with chemicals, and the prongs kept breaking my rubber gloves. So I took them off and folded them up in a paper so I wouldn't loose them, and put it in my pocket...never to be seen again.
I feel so embarrassed and stupid.
Your rings were symbolic of your wedding, although it will never act as the bond that you have with your husband. You will get over it as it was just a material representation of your love for each other. There are so many married people that don't even wear rings and then there are also those (women in particular) that purchase faux rings to wear in place of their original wedding ring. Your love for each other will be just as strong tomorrow as it was yesterday! You never know, they may still turn up. Best of Luck
