How do you care for/clean a Platinum ring?
My engagement ring is a platinum solitaire. I just received it this month from my guy, and already notice some little wear and tear scratches. My jeweler said that's normal, that platinum naturally scratches easily, but HOW do I take care of it at home? Can I buff it? If so, how do I buff out the scratches?
Any advice would be greatly appeciated. Thank you in advance =)
A jeweler should be able to polish the ring for you which will remove the light surface scratches. To protect the ring, don't wear it during activities where you know that it may be hit or banged against things. You can clean in an ultrasonic cleaner and wipe it with a soft cloth.
